Boot Fitting Appointments

Boot fitting is free and included in the price of the boot. Appointments require a $100 deposit which is credited to your boot purchase. We do not mark up or add the cost of the boot fitting to the price of the ski/snowboard boot; however, if you do not purchase a pair of boots, the deposit will be applied toward the boot fitter's chargeable time of $120/hour. Cancellations or reschedules must be made 24 hours prior to your appointment. Once an appointment is booked, you will receive a confirming email as well as the ability to reschedule or cancel your appointment. No-shows will be charged the amount of the deposit.

Helm has shop masters on-site and we are ready to help you make sure your gear is in tip-top condition. If you do not know what you need, we will be happy to guide you. Need it done now? We have rush services so that you can get your work done and out the door so you can get to the mountains.

Season Leases & Rentals

We have beginner and performance gear; boots, skis, and snowboards. Make sure to come in early in the season as the pickings get slim when the snow is falling! Rentals: Prices are per weekend. Leases: If you are skiing or snowboarding more than two weekends per season, then this program is for you. Not only do you save money, but you also save the time and hassle of getting in line at the resort and waiting for your gear.

Sellers

register equipment starting Nov 1 - Nov 8. There is no registration after 11/8. Unsold equipment pickup is between 3-6pm 11/10.

Buyers

come in during swap meet hours and be prepared to pick up great deals. The best deals go fast, so get there early!

Helm of Sun Valley has been in business in San Mateo for more than 63 years. There aren't a whole lot of businesses that can say that, and we are proud of it. The cornerstone of our ski business is boot fitting. Our boot fitters have over 10 years of experience and Gary, the owner, has over 40 years of experience. We know how to fit boots plus we do all kinds of custom fitting. All of our employees participate in the ski and snowboard sports that we sell and we feel it is very important to know what we are taking about. We strive to have insightful knowledge about the equipment we sell, cutting through the all the rhetoric and getting down to the nitty gritty.
